December 13, 2018- Mr. Garcia is the new security guard at O. Henry this year. The purpose of his job is to protect students and make sure everyone is safe.

Q: Do you ever feel scared breaking up a fight or sending a kid to B.M.C.?

A: When I first started working here, yes, because I was new to the rules and everything.

Q: How many fights have you broken up? Did they put resistance on you?

A: I have broken up two fights. They did not and they stopped right away.

Q: What is your typical day at OHMS?

A:  I get here and I have my morning rounds to do inside and outside the school. Then for about an hour I’m just patrolling the hallway then helping out with lunches.

Q: What is your favorite part of OHMS and why?

A: Definitely the students because I got some nicknames and handshakes. I also like helping out with the football team.

Q: Since we know you went here for middle school, do you think that helped you know the school better?

A:  Yes, going here definitely helped with just navigating around the school to know where everything is.

Q: How long do you plan on working here?

A:  Definitely until the end of this year and next year depending on how things go.
