Coronavirus homeschool

April 2020 – The coronavirus started in early January 2020 and has been ongoing for five months now. Everyone wants this to be over as soon as possible. Everything is closed, and the only things that aren’t are grocery stores and anything else that’s essential to the community. We’ve had the shelter in place order for almost 2 weeks. The roads are practically abandoned, the only people on them are picking up essentials. Parking lots are never full except for those in front of grocery stores like H-E-B and Randalls.

The schools have had to close, and many of them have started distance learning, so kids will have something to accomplish during this pandemic. I genuinely think distance learning is fun, mostly because it allows me something to do during the day. The teachers are very helpful and if you have a question, they will help you to the best of their ability. If they can’t help you, you can Zoom with them and some of your other classmates, so they can help you better.

O. Henry Middle School has provided us with Chromebooks to do all school work. They are also making sure everyone is capable of continuing with distance learning which means making sure they have WiFi and supplies. They have been very helpful through the process of schooling.
