May 2021 – The book Roller Girl was released in 2015 by Victoria Jamieson. I have read this book multiple times and just recently read it again. It is a graphic novel about a girl whose mom takes her to a roller derby with her old best friend, and she falls in love. She takes a little summer camp for it, practices a lot, and soon gets better.

There are a lot of ups and downs and things go crazy.  For example, Astrid (the main character) meets someone named Zoe that goes to the same roller derby camp and they become good friends. Zoe has dyed hair, so Astrid decides to dye her hair blue without telling her mom. In another incident, she fails to tell her mother when she skates all the way home from practice.

If you like crazy, exciting graphic novels, then I definitely recommend this book. It has lots of cool pictures and fun adventures. Overall, I would give this book 5 stars out of 5 stars!
