The Great Passing Period Debate: Five Minutes of Chaos
By A Student Who Just Wants to Leave on Time
If passing period were shorter, students would either have to leave class earlier or classes would have to be a little longer. Students would also have less time to run around in the hallways before going to class. Depending on how much the time changed, classes might only become one or two minutes longer.
If passing period were longer, the school day might have to be longer, or classes would have to be shorter. Either way, changing passing period would affect the schedule. In reality, both shorter and longer passing periods could end up having almost the same effect. It might change a few minutes here or there, but it probably would not make a huge difference.
In my opinion, passing period should stay the same. If we added more time, we might have to leave school later. If we shortened passing period, classes might become longer. There is a chance classes could become shorter, but that probably would not happen. I would rather keep the schedule the way it is than stay later just to have one or two extra minutes of passing period.
