Should sixth graders be allowed to play sports? I feel that sixth graders should be allowed to play because I love sports, and the rule does not make a lot of sense to me. I know there are some valid concerns, like safety, time, coaches, and space. However, I still think sixth graders should be able to play the same sports as seventh and eighth graders.
I think that if seventh and eighth graders can play sports, then sixth graders should be allowed as well. There are a few challenges, like coaching and space, but these are minor difficulties that could be fixed by adjusting schedules or making other changes. There are also a lot of upsides to having sixth-grade sports. Schools could keep good players for longer and have more time to build their players.
I think a lot of people would agree with me because sports are fun, and everyone should be allowed to participate. I have met very few people who do not like sports, and I hate the fact that I cannot play. This rule is restricting kids and leaves some students feeling bored or left out.
I also think it would be possible to make sixth-grade sports work. One idea is to take the pre-athletics periods and make them athletics periods. For games, schools could use the fields they already have and schedule games at different times of the year. It does not even have to be as many games as seventh and eighth grade. I just want everyone to have the chance to play middle school sports.
